DONATIONS CAN BE MADE NOW THROUGH DONOR ADVISED FUNDS
What is a donor-advised fund? A donor-advised fund (DAF) provides donors with a centralized charitable giving vehicle. It allows philanthropically inclined individuals, families, and corporations to make an irrevocable charitable gift to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program and take an immediate tax deduction. Most sponsoring organizations of DAFs accept cash equivalents, securities, and certain other assets.

How does it work?
 Establish your DAF by making an irrevocable, tax-deductible donation to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program.
 Advise the investment allocation of the donated assets (any investment growth is tax-free).
 Recommend grants to qualified public charities of your choice.

Main advantages of a donor-advised fund
 Simplicity—The DAF sponsor handles all recordkeeping, disbursements, and tax receipts.
 Flexibility—Timing of your tax deduction can be separate from your charitable decision making.
 Tax efficiency—Contributions are tax-deductible, and any investment growth in the DAF is tax-free. It is also easy to donate long-term appreciated securities, eliminating capital gains taxes and allowing you to support several charities from one block of stock.
 Family legacy—A DAF is a powerful way to build or continue a tradition of family philanthropy.
 No start-up costs—There is no cost to establish a donor-advised fund. However, there are often minimum initial charitable contributions to establish the DAF (typically $5,000 or more).*
 No transaction fees—Once approved, 100% of your recommended grant goes to your qualified public charity of choice.*
 Privacy if desired—Donors may choose to remain anonymous to the grant recipient.

  1. I just sent a one-time $25.00, credit card donation for Jean Marie Santelli, deceased May 17, 2018. My name is Paulette Myers, 208 Beverly Lane, Collinsville, IL 62234. There was no place on donation form for Jean’s name. Please send confirmation if you received my donation. Thank you.

  2. Ditto to the comment above. I just made a $100 donation in memory of James Martin. Nowhere was there an option to indicate the who the gift was in memory of, nor was there a way to indicate that the gift was from both my wife and I, nor was there a way to indicate the address of the family, which I am sure you have on file.

  3. I just made a $ 50.00 donation in honor of James D. “Jim” Martin by credit card. today, Oct 9, 2018.

Nowhere was there an option to indicate the who the gift was in memory of, nor was there a way to indicate that the gift was from both my husband and I, nor was there a way to indicate the address of the family, which I am sure you have on file.

Or send an notice to Kelly Hill, 164 Ashton Circle, Lexington, SC 29073 and also a receipt to me
    Janet Brennan.

    Please advise. Very poor system

    1. There is a place on the Pay Pal Site but it is easy to miss and unfortunately, we do not have any control over how that piece is presented. That being said, I have added a form to the donation page of our website where that information can be entered and it is automatically emailed to us. We do get your information from Pay Pal so we can send you a receipt. I apologize for any inconvenience. And you are right, our system is not perfect but we do the best we can.
