Since opening in March of this year we have had the privilege to care for 17 residents and their families. Some have stayed for only a few days and others several weeks. We have been honored by being brought into their lives and being treated like family.
We have some of the most incredible volunteers who have been here regularly whether it be weekly or almost daily. But we need more. Our home would operate efficiently with about 100 volunteers in our database. It does not require a regular commitment on the part of the volunteers and you can come whenever you are able. We are having a volunteer training on August 15th at 6:00 pm at Pathway Home. If this is not convenient for you just give us a call and we can arrange for you to come out for individual training.
We were sadden to hear of the loss of one of our volunteers, Fran Wenderlich, last week. She had always been a great supporter of our project and volunteered here with her husband Paul on a regular basis. We will miss her smiles and wonderful way she put people at ease. Our hearts go out to her family.
We are gearing up for our Annual Fall Gala being held again at Ventosa Vineyard on October 6th starting at 6 pm.
Tickets will be on sale shortly and we will be able to offer them online this year also. We already have several beautiful baskets and Items for our silent auction. You will have your choice of entrees (Stuffed Chicken Breast, Lemon Cod, or Eggplant Parmesan) We have a DJ for the evening and will be changing things up a bit so we have more time to use the dance floor.
Our flower beds that were put in by Lowes last summer are in full bloom and are gorgeous. Again thank you to our volunteers who help maintain our flower beds. We will also be starting the Becker Memorial Garden later this summer and fall with the help of the Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners.
