All donations to Pathway Home of the Finger Lakes will be used for our regular operating expenses, including maintaining the home, staffing and related expenses.

We have several supporters who make regular donations through a Donor Advised Fund, which allows them to have greater charitable impact with money they have saved for retirement.
Once a Donor Advised Fund is set up with the firm that holds your IRA, you can move money into the fund and then donate it to any 501(c)3 organization -- like Pathway Home -- without incurring any income taxes on the amounts. There are rules for how a fund is opened and managed.

Qualified charitable distributions also involve retirement funds but may have additional benefits depending on your tax situation. QCDs are one-time donations to a 501(c)3 organization -- like Pathway Home -- which can reduce your income tax bill for that year.
