Pathway Home History

In 2009 a group of individuals came together to discuss the need for a comfort care home in Seneca County. Several of them were Seneca County residents who worked in hospice programs and had seen the need for this service first hand.

The first job was fund raising, which led to the purchase of a home at 1529 State Route 414 (Mound Road) in October of 2015. Fund raising continued and some renovations to the home were completed in anticipation of opening.

Pathway Home accepted its first resident on Feb. 28, 2017. Since then, more than 120 people have called Pathway home.

Pathway Home was developed based on other comfort care home models currently operating in the Finger Lakes. Some renovations were completed and the home received its certificate of occupancy in October 2016.

In 2021 a grant from the Emerson Foundation in Auburn made it possible for us to renovate the bath rooms in the house. The new configuration includes a roll-in shower and fully accessible fixtures and a configuration which benefits our residents.
